Terry Rowlett grew up in rural Arkansas, where his worldview was shaped by evangelical Christianity. As an art student, he gravitated towards the techniques of the Old Masters. His work today fuses familiar themes from Renaissance and Baroque paintings with pop culture imagery, exploring the meaning of faith—and loss of faith—in the modern world.
